One of Michigan's most popular casino is actually in Canada. It's Casino Windsor in Ontario which is just across the river from downtown Detroit. Casino Windsor first opened May 17, 1994 and a riverboat (Northern Belle Casino) was later added to accommodate the overflow crowds which the casino drew. The original casino and riverboat were closed in July 1998 when a new larger casino/hotel opened to replace them.
All winnings are paid in Canadian currency and the minimum gambling age is 19. The casino is open 24 hours and offers the following games: blackjack, craps, single-zero roulette, baccarat, mini-baccarat, big six wheel, pai-gow poker, Caribbean stud poker and let it ride.

Detroit Casinos
In November 1996 Detroit voters approved, by a 51% to 49% margin, a referendum to allow three casinos in the downtown area. Each operator has opened a temporary casino which, by law, must be replaced by a permanent casino within four years.
All three casinos are open 24 hours and offer the following games: blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, mini-baccarat, Caribbean stud poker, pai gow poker and let it ride. The minimum gambling age at all Detroit casinos is 21.
