Slots is a game of luck, requiring absolutely no skill to play. For this reason, slots are the most popular casino game in the world. They are also very fun to play. Below we present you with the objective of slots, a basic slot machine layout and how to play slots to help gain a better understanding of the game.
The Objective Of Slots
The objective of slots is simply to get a winning combination of symbols on the slot machine payline such that the player payout is more than the player bet.
Slot Machine Layout
While there are many different types of slot machines, we will be using the most popular type for our example, the single payline slot machine.
Towards the top of the slot machine is the area representing the pay schedule. The pay schedule contains winning symbol combinations and their corresponding payout. Just below that are the three reels containing the symbols that must line up on the payline, which is located in the middle of the reels. Below the reels are the player buttons. From left to right are the Bet One, Spin and Bet Max buttons. Below the player buttons is the coin slot. Below the coin slot is the coin payout. Although there is a Spin button, on the right side of the machine is the spin arm. The Spin button and the spin arm are hooked up to the same switch, and it does not matter which one the player uses to spin the reels.
How To Play Slots
The player inserts one or more coins into the slot machine.
The player then either hits the Spin button or the spin arm.
The reels spin, coming to rest with the different symbols in different positions on the payline
If the resulting combination of symbols and positions match up with a combination on the pay schedule, the player wins.
The player repeats the above steps until finished playing.
